I've downloaded my eBook, where is the file so I can make a backup?

The location of the file on your PC is dependent upon which format it is in, and what operating system you are using.

  • On Windows 2000 and Windows XP, eBook files are saved in My Documents > My Digital Editions.
  • On Windows Vista®, eBook files are saved in Documents > My Digital Editions.
  • On a Mac OS®, eBook files are saved in Documents > Digital Editions.
If you should lose your eBook file(s) in the future (for example, if your hard drive fails) then you can open them again from backup copies, as long as you also use Adobe Digital Editions with the same Adobe ID.
